Vinograd RESIDENCE
My work on Vinograd Residence has spanned several years, though in some ways the project began even earlier, when I got to know Suzie and Max while designing the brick-and-mortar space for their business, Synergy. Their Washington Park home had great bones but suffered from undersized spaces and lacked a true "grand" moment. As avid hosts who spend much of their time preparing nourishing meals together, they needed a home that could rise to the occasion.
The renovation centered on the kitchen, dining room, and mudroom—spaces that were previously disconnected or, in the case of the mudroom, nonexistent. Today, these areas feel bright and airy, transformed by a vaulted kitchen ceiling and new skylights that flood the room with natural light. The vault is finished in a stunning tongue-and-groove treatment that adds warmth, texture, and character throughout.
Highly custom tile patterns and colors come together to create a one-of-a-kind backsplash and range hood, while pops of color appear through fixtures and furniture, all sourced by Shae Studio.
